Teacher Viginia Grund has taught at Eagle High for nine years and has impacted many students in meaningful ways during this time. A typical day at work is very hectic but also very important to Grund. She supervises one of the special needs classrooms here at Eagle High. She helps ensure that each student is involved and has the skills and desire for a future career and successful life in general.
“Mrs. Grund is very hard working, and she makes the environment of the class feel very inviting. She has a great impact on the students,” said Brooke Bondi.
As ensured by Grund, a typical day for a student in her classroom is filled with plenty of learning, games and physical exercise. Working in this classroom can be very difficult but Grund is a very skilled teacher. She has very strong and personal connections with each of these students. She herself believes that her job is very rewarding, and she enjoys it very much.
“This is my ninth year, and I have had an amazing time working at Eagle High. I love the students and the connections I have been able to make with each and every one of them. My favorite part of the year so far has been seeing the new freshman get used to high school and begin to feel comfortable in my room,” said Teacher Virginia Grund.
Another aspect of her job is working with the peer assistants. A peer assistants’ job is to help the classroom run smoothly and help individual students get their work done as well as be a friendly face for them. It is a large aspect of her job to teach these peer assistants to show the qualities and skills that she herself has learned.
“I have been a peer assistant to Mrs. Grund in the past and I loved it. She was a great teacher to all students and think that she just brings a certain positivity to class each day that is amazing,” said sophomore McKenley Gupton.
Going forward, the impact she has had on the students of all varieties will continue to affect them positively for years to come. She will continue to help each and every student to overcome each person’s individual obstacles in their life. As long as Grund is on staff, she will always have the best interest in her heart for these kids and help watch over these amazing programs.
