Junior Delaney Heiner is an outstanding student at Eagle High. She is taking college classes, has a cumulative GPA of 3.8 and is working and maintaining her own acrylic nail business. She does not have a lot of extra time on her hands because she is so busy.
Heiner explains that she keeps up with grades by turning her work in on time, studying for tests and paying attention in class so she doesn’t fall behind.
“Some of my favorite classes that I take currently are fashion and textiles and drawing. They allow me to be creative,” Heiner said.
Heiner said that she has always been a creative person. She loves to explore with different art mediums like drawing, painting and calligraphy.
“My friends are some of my biggest supporters with my grades and business,” Heiner said.
She explained that her friends keep her motivated to do better and uplift her in all aspects of her life.
Heiner started her own business “Nails by Del” this year.
“I always liked getting my nails done, so I started to do my own and I wanted to start doing other people’s as well, and that’s how it all started,” she said.
Heiner has one to two clients per week. On average, it takes an hour and a half to two hours to get done with one full set of acrylic, poly-gel nails, depending on the design intricacy. She also runs an Instagram account called @nailsbydel_h with information about her work and pictures of the nails she has done.
Heiner continues to be an outstanding student at Eagle High every day and does more than expected at school and outside of it.
