As the holiday season commences, so do the holiday traditions and festivities. This time of year, is known as a time of giving, joy and celebrations. Although it is sometimes gloomy, it is important to remain positive and the Eagle High Choir can help with that.
The Eagle High Choir is prevalent in the school, the city of Eagle and the valley as a whole. They have a annual holiday concert. Choir Director Seth McMullen has led this annual holiday concert for twenty-two successful years. People are very excited for this show.
“After twenty years, I believe we are finally getting the hang of it. The students are learning their music, and we are on schedule. We have some very exciting music to showcase,” McMullen said.
The talented choir students are very excited to perform their music they have worked so long to perfect. They have an exciting setlist full of traditional Christmas music, as well as a splash of excitement. The show has a about an hour and a half long runtime. Except for one song, the songs only have live elements. There will be three showtimes, including Friday, Dec. 13 at 7:00 p.m. As well as Saturday Dec.14 at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Tickets are available on the front page of the school web page.
“I have been in choir for 4 years and I am very excited to be in the holiday concert this year. I am very excited to sing the big choral union songs, I am going to miss that when I graduate,” said senior Lily Montano.
The program has established a very efficient way to prepare for these performances. The students are asked to perform three times within a twenty-four-hour window. The quick turnaround performances can be taxing on the performers, especially with the planned choreography as part of the show. There will be nineteen songs in this concert.
“I am very excited to be a part of the show this year. We practice a lot throughout the year for this concert and I, as well as the other choir students, really get excited for the show,” said junior Allyson Godfrey.
