The Eagle High football team leads their way to Districts and State

This year, the Eagle High football team has continued to have a successful season.  The team is currently 7-2 in their overall record.  On Friday, Oct. 18, the Mustangs took on their last conference game against Borah High at Dona Larsen Park.  Eagle High won 35-22 in an intense game against the Borah Lions.  This game completed the team’s conference game season.

Going into the District Championship, the Mustangs played Rocky Mountain High.  According to maxpreps.com, Rocky Mountain High has an overall record of 8-0, which created a competitive game for both the Mustangs and the Grizzlies.  The Mustangs are undefeated in the River division.  As for the Grizzlies, they are undefeated in the Foothills division.

Eagle High competed against Rocky Mountain High on Friday, Oct. 25 at Rocky Mountain High.  The theme was camo, and the Stang Gang led the student section.  The Mustangs lost in a tough game to the Grizzlies with a score of 0-38.  Luckily for the team, this loss does not impact their ability to play at state.

“We are excited to play in State because it is a fun and familiar environment for the team,” said coach James Cluphf.  For the first round of state, the Mustangs will take on Madison High here at the Thunder Stadium.  Madison High has a record of 9-1 which will make for another competitive game for the Mustangs.  If the team goes on to win, they will play either Middleton High or Coeur d’Alene High.  With a successful season so far, hopes are high for the Mustangs going into the state tournament.
