Band
Marching Band hosted their friends and family night on Oct. 29 and started their Marching Band Elementary School Tour on Nov. 1. Looking forward, percussion has started preparing for State Solo and Ensemble in February
Debate
Debate had their first two tournaments at the end of October. The first one was Borah Novice where they had four new team members compete for the first time. The second competition was City of Trees Varsity Tournament where the team participated in the Varsity Lincoln-Douglas Debate. Looking forward, Lincoln Douglas will have a new topic for November and December. The club also has two tournaments scheduled for November, one in Caldwell and the Ridgeview Roundup. The Varsity team will be traveling to Sandy, Utah to compete at the Alta Silver Black tournament in December. This is a highly competitive event with schools from across the country.
Earth Club
In Earth Club, they believe in the importance of helping the environment through volunteer work in the community. This will consist of planting flowers/trees, highway cleanups, going on hikes, etc. On Oct. 26, they volunteered with the Treasure Valley Canopy Network where planted trees at homes in Boise. They are currently planning a volunteer opportunity at Eagle High, which will consist of picking up garbage from the parking lot, stands and fencing along the road. They will raise money through school concessions to donate to charities with a similar mission. Overall, they try to make Earth Club enjoyable and fun, while also helping the earth and learning about the environment.
FFA
FFA will participate in Creed and Degree Night at Mountain View High on Nov. 18. They will also be hosting their Produce Sale Fundraiser from Dec. 4 through Dec. 11. The club will also be assembling produce boxes for the West Ada Community on Dec. 9 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Mountain View High.
GSA
GSA’s last meeting was on Nov. 6 and their next one will be on Nov. 20. As always, students are welcome to bring their lunch every Wednesday whether there is a structured meeting or not.
HOSA
HOSA volunteered for the Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 28 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. There, they had a CPR station and an epi-pen station.
Key Club
Key Club provided babysitting for children of teachers on Nov. 5 during collaboration. They also participated in the Rake-Up Eagle on Nov. 9.
NHS
The students helped participate in the school trick or treat on Oct. 28, helped rake up Eagle High on Nov. 9 and are helping with Seven Oaks Elementary School’s literary night on Nov. 13.
Student Council
Student Council had their annual Trunk or Treat on Oct. 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and they are working on fundraising for Make-a-Wish to prepare for the spring. They have a blood drive coming up, as well, on Dec. 3 and a winter assembly during spirit week, starting Dec. 9 with an assembly on the 13th. Also, their annual Veterans Day Assembly is on Nov. 11.
Women Innovators Club
Women Innovators had an Astronomy Night on Nov. 4 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
