Many people would say that knitting and crochet are the same thing, but they have their differences. They have different techniques and different fabrics.
Knitting and crocheting have always been interesting to many people. Knitters and crocheters make many things varying from clothes to toys to even keychains. Projects can also include blankets, hats, stuffed toys and doilies.
“Me and the co-founders started [the club] to connect with others who share their passion with uncommon crafting activities,” said junior Kate Kuehn.
The Knit and Crochet club started during the 2023-2024 school year. The club is run by math teacher Amy Dutchover, and they meet every Thursday during lunch to show off their creativity. They also have an official meeting the second Thursday of each month in room S108 in teacher Amy Dutchover’s room.
This club does a service project each year to donate the things that they craft. Giving away things like scarves or hats. “We work with operation gratitude, which works with Veteran or active Military,” Kuehn said.
Knitting and crocheting could be a fun way for students to explore their creativity. This is a great club to join if you are interested in knitting or crocheting.
