It is no shock that students have incorporated AI into their work in school, even though many are firm believers that AI can ruin the current world of schooling. However, AI can be one of the greatest assets as many have already incorporated it into their lives for their benefit.
“AI introduces new ways to approach teaching. It gives new creativity and ideas to help with lesson planning and classwork,” said teacher Shelli Taylor. Many teachers have embraced the new AI introduced to the West Ada School District called MagicSchool.
Many other teachers and students have used other AI programs such as Chat GPT and Open AI. They offer new resources and suggestions that many teachers and students would not ever think of such as new ideas, organizing broad thoughts, formatting of lessons, and advice on classwork. New lessons that have been created using AI allow teachers to have more engaged students.
Students can also benefit from the use of AI, as it can encourage them to think outside of the box, along with helping them find words for their ideas.
“It helps with organizing my broad ideas while giving me new ideas and helping with creativity,” said counselor Jordan Chesler. “I support the use of it correctly, it is easy to use incorrectly, like anything else, but it can be beneficial to school.”
AI can be used incorrectly, in the case of copying and pasting and trying to pass that off as a student’s work. On the other hand, it can provide so much creativity and organization for students and teachers.
When used appropriately, AI can benefit schools by helping teachers in their lessons and organization. For students, it can help with creativity and idea organization as well. Thoughtful use of AI can lead to a better educational experience for students, along with making the job of teaching more enjoyable and manageable.
