This past summer was one to remember in the music industry with some big hits. Artists such as Morgan Wallen and Kendrik Lamar both, currently, have two new songs in the Billboard top 20. Morgan Wallen’s and Post Malone’s “I Had Some Help” stayed at Billboards number one spot for the past 14 weeks racking up 76.4 million streams in the U.S during its debut week.
According to billboard.com, “The current top five artists insist Sabrina Carpenter, Travis Scott, Post Malone, Chappel Roan and Morgan Wallen at number five.”
This top five has won a total of one Grammy Award but many nominations. The most nominations come from Travis Scott with 37 nominations and one Grammy Award.
Eagle High students enjoyed this summer’s music releases.
“I got into Reggae this summer and loved some of the new music such as Praise Jah in The Moonlight by YG Marley,” said senior Brady Ford.
YG Marley is the grandson of Bob Marley. His hit song rallied one billion streams worldwide and reached #39 on Billboard.
It didn’t matter what genre people preferred this summer, there was a concert for everybody.
The summer concert lineup at the Ford Idaho Center included: “Kenny Chesney (July 11), Luke Bryan (Aug. 2), Jason Mraz (Aug. 3), Outlaw Music Festival (Aug. 7, with Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan and John Mellencamp), Tyler Childers (Aug. 21), Hozier (Sept. 3), Jason Aldean (Sept. 6) and Lainey Wilson (Sept. 14),” according to msn.com.
Many of these concerts were sold out in advance. Concerts can make for a great time with friends, family and loved ones.
