According to www.nytimes.com, “The surveys conducted between July 26 and Aug. 2, show Mrs. Harris leading slightly or tied among likely voters in six of the seven battlegrounds polled – Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.”
Polls will be changing between now and Election Day, and the polls cannot be expected to exactly match the results. But if Harris won every state she is expected to, she leads in poll averages as of now, and Harris would reach the necessary 270 electoral votes to win the 2024 election.
Polls are interesting to look at however, “It’s normal for polls not to match the final results, sometimes by considerable amounts,” according to www.nytimes.com.
Election simulations have been running with a total of 1,000 simulations. Out of these 1,000, Harris has won 557 and Trump 439 times. These are small-scale compared to the millions of voters that will be voting on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
“There has been a lot of build-up and momentum coming to this election. I’m excited to see what this country chooses and what our future holds,” said Eagle High alumni Jimmy Flynn.
Before young adults cast their vote, they should be informed on events that have happened leading up to this year’s presidential election.
On Friday, July 26 there was an assassination attempt on former president Trump where he was struck by a bullet in the ear, causing him no harm but an uproar in the media. Also, after Trump debated former president Joe Biden, Biden dropped out of the election after facing criticism about his age and his inability to defeat Trump.
Many students from the Eagle High class of 2024 could be casting their vote this election season.
“It’s my first year to vote if I choose and I hope to make a difference,” said Eagle High alumni Brady Barowsky.
This is an exciting time for many young adults to share their opinion, and many people are looking forward to Election Day.
