The Eagle Lightening Dance Team has been a huge part of Eagle High’s school spirit, from supporting on the sidelines at football games to hyping everyone up at pep rallies. They’ve had some time to work with each other and are looking forward to the upcoming competition and sideline seasons.
With the end of summer being cut short, the team has had more time than usual to learn routines and get to know each other. They have been practicing for four-eight hours a day with their head coach Keana Lithander.
“This year, the dance team has a really great bond between each teammate,” said sophomore Hailee Simpson. “It is really starting to show during practice when we are cleaning and rehearsing dances as a team.”
The girls have been working on their homecoming pep rally routine and are always excited to be a part of Eagle High’s school spirit. They are also excited for their new category for competition dance, pom-pom, a whole category now dedicated to dancing with pom-poms in competition. This could be another potential sideline routine addition.
Their hip-hop section is always a hit at the competition and the team is excited to preform it once again in January, when the first competition of their season starts.
“We are super excited for the upcoming dance season,” said sophomore Chloe Janson. “We’re ready to show everyone what we’ve been working on.”
All in all, the team has been putting in hours in practice and bonding with their teammates, creating a fun and exciting atmosphere for the sideline season and competition season.
