Selena Gomez is popular for her role in Wizards of Waverly Place, her music career and now her best-selling beauty line, Rare Beauty. She is a role model for many girls and boys around the world, as she stands for being uniquely oneself and embracing every imperfection, turning it into something that one loves. 

Gomez has launched all liquid and cream products thus far besides her setting powder. The liquid blushes went viral on TikTok and sold out within days of being restocked on the shelves of Sephora.  

According to sephora.com, “The Soft Pinch Liquid Blush is a weightless, long lasting liquid blush that blends and builds beautifully for a soft, healthy flush.” This blush is very pigmented, so a little goes a long way. This is very nice because one won’t have to restock often. Although there are so many shades to choose from, most likely one won’t be able to leave without at least two in the basket. 

Gomez has been very vocal about mental health and the awareness surrounding it. The name Rare Beauty is based off of her album Rare. She is breaking the beauty standard of perfection, allowing everyone to feel beautiful just as she is. Everyone is “rare.” 

Along with the name, Gomez has created the Rare Impact Fund. This means that one percent of all proceeds go straight to philanthropic foundations, corporate partners and individuals in the community that increase access to mental health services in educational settings. 

According to rarebeauty.com, “Suicide is the second leading cause of death in the Gen Z community.” With social media, technology and the devil called comparison, suicide has become very common. Gomez, as someone that struggles with mental health herself, just wants to help others.
