On Oct. 16, 1923, Walt and Roy Disney founded the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio in Hollywood. This studio is now known as the Walt Disney Company that is celebrating 100 years of business. On Feb. 18, the Walt Disney Company started its world premiere exhibition, showing over 250 rare, original pieces of Disney memorabilia put out by the Walt Disney archives, with behind-the-scenes of the company’s creation and the making of some of the well-known characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, Pluto and more. These characters regularly walk around the Disneyland parks every day, happy to sign and take pictures with people of all ages.

On July 17, 1955, Walt Disney opened his first amusement park in Anaheim, California known as Disneyland, which was the first location in the world. In celebration of the Walt Disney Company’s 100-year anniversary, Anaheim’s Disneyland Park is going to be celebrating Disney’s 100 Years of Wonder.

According to disneyland.disney.go.com, “With a wave of his wand, Mickey Mouse leads a cavalcade of fabulous floats, whimsically costumed performers and popular Disney pals around the park and into your hearts.” This parade, known as the Magic Happen Parade will be going around the streets of Disneyland for the entire year of 2023 starting on Feb. 24.

On March 9, 2022, Disney announced that Mickey’s Toon Town was going to be redone with renovations on Gadget’s Go Coaster, Goofy’s Playhouse and Donald’s Boat with the new addition on Mickey & Minnie’s Runway Railway, which opened on Jan. 27. The rest of Mickey’s Toon Town is scheduled to open on March 8. As sad as it is that the original Splash Mountain will be closed until 2024, it is being revamped to later be known as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.

According to disneyland.disney.go.com, “Watch in wonder as water, fire, light and music weave together to celebrate the magic of Disney storytelling.” New additions to California Adventure’s World of Color have been made, and the show is now known as World of Color – One. New films such as “The Lion King,” “Moana,” “Ratatouille,” “Soul,” “Star Wars” and “The Avengers” are going to be featured during this 24-minute water show. With shows starting at 9:00 p.m., it is best to show up early to find the best spot in the sectioned off parts of Paradise Garden Park.

For all guests who visit, new merchandise, spanning from Mickey ears to collectable cups, are being sold all around the park. This is an important year for the Walt Disney Company and will be worth it to visit Disneyland and be a part of the Disney magic.
