Netflix T.V. series “Outer Banks” is returning for another season on Feb. 23. The first couple of seasons were entertaining, so there are high expectations for season three.

“Outer Banks” fans are familiar with the cast, such as main characters John B, played by Chase Stokes, Sarah Cameron, who is played by Madelyn Cline, and JJ, who is played by Rudy Pankow. These actors are putting in a lot of effort to make this season just as great as the rest and to keep the fans on their toes.

Season two ended with a bang – quite literally – as it finished with a boat brawl between the “Pogues” and the “Kooks.” The Pogues are a group of people that are from the south side of the Outer Banks, usually working two jobs, while the Kooks are the rich people on the north side of the island that tend to get whatever they want. Season two ended with the Pogues sneaking aboard the ship in attempt to rescue Sarah and prevent the ship from transporting the “Golden Shroud” to the Bahamas.

Ward Cameron is the father of Sarah and Rafe Cameron. He and Rafe are attempting to take the Golden Shroud to the Bahamas effectively making them rich. The Golden Shroud is a giant golden cross laced with gems. It can be opened with a key and is thought to have healing powers to cure illnesses.

It also came as a surprise when the Pogues discovered that Ward was still alive after he blew up his boat, supposedly along with himself. The storyline of Ward faking his death will be a big part of season three and will make it harder for the Pogues to reobtain the Golden Shroud that was stolen from them.

Another shocking event included teasing the introduction of John B.’s father, Big John, who was presumed as dead in seasons one and two. In the very last scene of season two, however it showed Big John making a deal with another character to help her find the Shroud if she agreed to help protect his son.

Many viewers were caught off guard by this sudden return, and it will surely be explained this upcoming season. The season two finale has urged fans into wanting to know what’s to come next.

According to showbizjunkies.com, “The stakes are ramping up. The Pogues realize that their adventures in the first two seasons were merely the prelude to the granddaddy of all treasure hunts.” The Pogues are not finished yet, John B. has to avenge his father’s treasure and Pope has to recover his grandfather, Denmark Tanny’s, Golden Shroud.

After rescuing Sarah but failing to recover the Golden Shroud, the Pogues had to retreat, but are now stranded on a desert island which they call “Poguelandia.” Far from home and with barely anyone to trust, there is not much else to do except fight back for what was theirs and escape the dangers that they face.

There is blood in the water, and Ward and Rafe are angry and want revenge against the Pogues for interrupting their transportation. The Pogues also know the secret of Ward faking his death and think he is risking it all if he doesn’t do anything about it.

Together, the group of kids are smart and determined, so they will commit to the adventurous Pogue life, take big risks and win back the treasure. It’s just them against the world – and they have nothing to lose.
