“The friends I have from sports motivate me to show up to practice and get better,” Forbess said.

In addition to softball, Forbess is also on the swim team at Eagle. She has been doing swim for two years and was excited to be on varsity this fall. Swimming is an individual sport that pushes Forbess to work to her full potential.

“Swimming is a very individual sport. I have to show up to practice to get better,” Forbess said. “I don’t have to, which gives me a challenge.”

Both Swimming and Softball are big parts of Forbess day to day life. Sometimes she finds it hard to balance both, but she remembers it is possible when she reflects on all the people she has as role models.

“I look up to my past teammates who have graduated because I have learned from them, and they have helped me become a better athlete,” Forbess said.

Forbess is an exceptional athlete, but also an exceptional student. She is taking four AP classes and three college classes. She is always challenging herself in the classroom to ensure she is the best student she can be.

Forbess’s class load and motivation to perform well in school is a result of her goal-driven mindset. Goals are very important to Forbess and help her to strive to become a better student and athlete.

Two sports and a rigorous class schedule are time-consuming. However, Forbess doesn’t let this stop her striving.

“I manage my time so I can do all my homework in-between school and practice,” she said.

Forbess tries her best to be both a good student and an athlete. Because of time management, goals setting, motivation and passion, Forbess balances both school and two sports well. The intensity of her schedule and sports commitments doesn’t ease any time soon for Forbess, but she doesn’t plan on slowing down. She strives to be one of Eagle High’s great athletes and students.
