Eagle High has one of the top varsity baseball teams in the state, with big goals for the 2025 season. The team has twenty players on it with three team captains, junior Carter Ditlove and seniors Jack Swanstrom and Brady Ford. Head coach Scott Deck and assistant coaches Mike Moore and Brian Wofle work to make this team into something special. The team has won five district championships and two state championships in 2003 and 2011.
“We want to win the league and carry the momentum on to win a state championship,” said Deck.
The baseball team puts in hard work. Their practice schedule is six days a week, Monday through Saturday, from 3:00pm-6:00pm. Normally, they play three games a week. They have played five games in total so far for their conference games, which includes: Ridgeview (6-0) Rocky Mountain high school (2-3), Bosie High (15-0), Timberline (7-10), Borah (1-3). During the Rocky Mountain and Timberline game they went into extra innings.
The schedule for the conference games were: Ridgeview March 28, Rocky April 1, Timberline April 3, Bosie April 4, Borah April 8, Capital April 10, Centennial April 11, Kuna April 17, Meridian April 18, Middleton, April 22, Mountain View Aprill 24 and Owyhee on April 25.
“We are feeling very confident about our upcoming conference games because I know our hard work will pay off,” said caption junior Carter Ditlove.
They are predicted to go far this season and beat the majority of the teams according to Bosie Sports Talk. Just because they haven’t won the majority of their games so far does not mean the Mustangs won’t have a comeback.
