Boise State football has built an argument for itself as one of the most successful programs in college football, with an interesting style of play and lots of success. This has led to much recognition, as they will be joining the Pac-12 in the 2026 season.

With the Broncos’ signature blue turf at Albertsons Stadium, they have earned a reputation as giant killers, taking down more highly ranked teams regularly and changing the national rankings.

“The Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma will never be forgotten,” said junior Colin Duarte.

They have had a fair share of success in the Mountain West Conference, with multiple conference championships and bowl game wins credited to bringing the program into the national spotlight.

The most exciting news for the team and their fans would be Boise State moving into the Pac-12 Conference level. The Pac-12 is a conference that has more money in it than Boise State’s current conference, the Mountain West.

The Pac-12, with its powerhouse programs, would give Boise State a higher platform to show their talents and compete against some of the finest teams in the nation. This would raise not just the status of Boise State football but also give them much better chances to recruit more talent. With higher levels of competition, the Broncos would be forced to take their game to new levels, possibly having more exciting and meaningful games.

“Boise State’s popularity has been growing over the last few years and will continue to grow especially in Idaho,” said senior Sione Perkins. The Broncos will continue to gain momentum and popularity due to their decision to join the Pac-12.

Joining the Pac-12 would mean big changes overall for the university. This additional media exposure and money from television deals might have a positive impact on the entire athletic department by potentially improving facilities and resources in all sports. A higher profile football program can bring in more applications, which may be one way to increase interest in the university for growth and development in many academic and extracurricular arenas.

All in all, a Boise State move to the Pac-12 can be called a leap toward a brighter future of the football program and the university itself for newer challenges and opportunities.
