“Shatter Me,” by Tahereh Mafi is a New York Times Bestseller and the Eagle High book of the month. “Shatter Me” is about a girl named Juliette and her lethal touch.

Juliette is locked in an insane asylum for the first chapters of the book. In the second chapter of the book Juliette gets a roommate, Adam. He tries to get information out of Juliette about her past.

Juliette and Adam end up getting taken to the soldier’s base so that Warner could watch her closer. Warner, the head soldier of the whole base introduces himself to Juliette and gets her situated into her room. Adam and Juliette end up escaping the base, and Warner touched Juliette knowing that her touch is lethal. Juliette is terrified that Warner knows he touched her, and Warner ends up surviving after he touches Juliette.

“I actually was so excited when they escaped,” said sophomore Brooke Bondi. “I was screaming when she found out Warner could touch her.”

Warner finds Juliette and he tries to take her back to his base, but she grabs his gun when he wasn’t paying attention and shoots Warner in his left arm. Juliette goes and finds Adam. Warner’s soldiers had tortured Adam so that he couldn’t walk on his own. Adam tells Juliette the way to Omega Point, a place that is going against the government. All the people at Omega Point are like Juliette, they all have their own powers. The twins there had the power to heal anyone, one person had mind control and the leader of the Rebellion Castle had the power to move items with his mind.

Omega Point had healers that were able to heal Adam in a few hours. Juliette was scared and was hoping to see Adam. Adam was all healed up, perfectly new. The rebellion lived and planned for an attack on Warner for months.

“This book had me non-stop reading,” said Bondi.  “I ended up reading the whole book in less than a day.”

The ‘Shatter Me’ book is a part of a six-book series. There are also book novellas that are spin offs from the book in the perspective of the men in the story. The six books in order are “Shatter Me”, “Unravel Me”, “Ignite Me”, “Restore Me”, “Defy Me”, and “Believe me.”

Many people have said that Warner is the best book boyfriend. Readers say that their enemies to lover’s trope was the best they’ve ever read.
